The Twelve Days of Cryzmis

Krainos is a Equavien, half pegasus and half human, and his mentor brings him on a delivery to Cryzmis, deep in the mountains of Rhozanthia. A chance meeting with the minotaur Xenon, a gentle giant of a man, sparks something within him that he's encouraged to pursue. Xenon, he learns, doesn't have a great self-image, and Krainos takes it upon himself to be a salve in the short time he's in town.

But this delivery is a yearly one, and regardless of what either has going on they always make time for each other, shutting out the other things that trouble them the rest of the year to be each other's refuge.

This can't last, however, as the secrets Xenon keeps from Krainos (and Xenon keeps Krainos from) and the encroachments of a nascent war build until their heavenly peace is mortally threatened.
